Shaping Life 2\n<\/strong><\/h5>\n
\u2192 <\/strong>Boarding Pass<\/strong><\/h5>\n3rd year PhD student with Patrick Tschopp, Universit\u00e4t Basel, Switzerland<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\nOne of the main goal in Developmental Biology is to understand how multicellular organisms are shaped and how the underlying processes are modulated to enable morphological diversification. The Shaping Life meeting is organized to open new discussions in order to understand what are the mechanisms underlying the \u201cShape of life\u201d. In April 2021, according to the pandemic situation, the second edition of Shaping life meeting was held virtually.<\/p>\n
During this meeting, I had the opportunity to present my experimental work that I made so far during my thesis in front of a poster on the virtual space of gather town. In this virtual space, participants were able to move around and interact together like in real life. Thank to this, participants of the Shaping life 2 provided critical feedback on my poster, which was really useful as my PhD\u2019s work is in the phase of preparation for a manuscript.<\/p>\n
In addition, I attended to great talks that were presented by a diverse scientific community, gathering PhD students, Post-Doc and talented scientists. Several topics were discussed, and I was particularly interested in the topics of Mechanics & Self-Organization and Evo-Devo & Emerging Models that are in link with my PhD project. One of my favorite talk was given by Professor Enrico Coen about Orienting growth and morphogenesis, which gave me a lot to think about.<\/p>\n
