[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]As a premiere, the SFBD organized an Art and Science Day at the University of Basel (Switzerland). With the Visual Didactics<\/a> class of the HEAR<\/a> (Haute \u00c9cole des Arts du Rhin) and our sponsors Eucor<\/a> and DialogScience<\/a>, we introduced the field of Developmental Biology to the students of this prestigious Art School through oral presentations, practical workshops and a guided tour of Zoo Basel<\/a> which focused on the different reproductive animal strategies.<\/p>\n

This day was coordinated by Ma\u00ebva Luxey<\/strong> (SFBD Project Manager, Associate Researcher, Institute of Zoology, Basel) and implemented by the following speakers:<\/p>\n

Fran\u00e7ois Bernier<\/b>, Professor at the University of Strasbourg, Director of the Maison pour la Science en Alsace,<\/p>\n

Adrian Baumeyer<\/strong><\/b>, Curator of Zoo Basel,<\/p>\n

Glenda Comai<\/b>, Board member of the SFBD, CNRS Researcher, Institut Pasteur, Paris,<\/p>\n

Pascale Dufourcq,<\/b> Professor at Toulouse Paul Sabatier University,<\/p>\n

Sophie <\/b>Jarriault<\/b>, Board member of the SFBD, Research Director, IGBMC, Strasbourg,<\/p>\n

Andrea <\/b>Pasini<\/b>, Board member of the SFBD, CNRS researcher, IBDM, Marseille,<\/p>\n

and several doctoral and post-doctoral students<\/strong> from the University of Basel that helped during the workshops.<\/p>\n

Inspired by the different topics discovered during the day, the students of the HEAR will be guided by their teachers, Olivier Poncer and Olivier-Marc Nadel, and our spekers to create visual and educational objects (such as pop-up books, and comics).<\/p>\n

You will have the opportunity to come and admire these creations during an exhibition at our next Franco-Japanese Conference on Developmental Biology<\/a> from November 7 to 10, 2022 in Strasbourg.<\/p>\n
