I would like to thank the SFBD for giving me the opportunity to present my work about drosophila follicle early elongation during Shaping Life 2. This conference brought together talks and posters dealing with various subjects and models about developmental biology.
I particularly enjoyed the talk of Cassandra Extravour concerning relationship between egg and embryo size and shape. I also really liked the second part of her talk about nuclei positioning during insect embryogenesis and her smart use of modelization to support the experimental data. Even though morphogenesis and self-organization discussed during Cassandra’s talk are subjects I am quite familiar with, I also discovered new aspects of developmental biology like during the talk of Andrea Pauli about the role of the protein Bouncer during specie-specific fertilization.
My feeling about these two talks actually sums up my general opinion about this meeting. Indeed, Shaping Life allowed me to improve my knowledge on different developmental topics, but also to discover new ones that really caught my attention
→ Lisa presented a poster entitled: « Roles of branched actin in epithelial cell shape and dynamics during follicle elongation in Drosophila »
