Results of the 2020 Board election
The elections for the 2020 SFBD Board renewal happened December 2-15 2019. They were organized via the online voting tool Pollen. The elections are now closed. Overall, 153 SFBD members voted, for a participation rate of 33%.
Jerome Gros and Cedric Maurange are reelected and the Board is happy to welcome 3 new members: François Agnès, Bénédicte Charrier and Sophie Jarriault. We are looking forward to promoting devbio with them. We are very sad to say goodbye to François Parcy. The Board wishes him you good luck in his future scientific and outreach activities. A few words about our three new Board members. François Agnès is a lecturer at the Institut des Neurosciences de Paris-Saclay. He studies eye morphogenesis in Astyanax mexicanus, a fish specie that has a river morph that sees and a blind cave morph. Bénédicte Charrier is a team leader at the Laboratory of Integrative Biology of Marine Models in Roscoff. She works on the development of Brown algeas, a phyla distant from Metazoans, Fungi and Plants. Sophie Jarriault is a team leader at the Institut de Génétique et de Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire in Strasbourg. Her lab studies how cells are maintained in a differentiated state and how their can, in certain conditions, change this differentiated state in C. elegans.
