About us
The French Society of Developmental Biology (SFBD) is a learned society that has gathered, for more than 50 years, researchers working on developmental biology on animal and plant species.
The SFBD
The French Society of Developmental Biology is a non-profit association. Its goal is to promote research in embryology and post-embryonic development, growth, differentiation, regeneration, teratology and genetics on all multicellular organisms using any kind of methology.
The SFBD promotes the sharing of ideas and ressources within the French Developmental Biology community. Each year, we organize a meeting in France. We also support the organization of devbio events (meetings, workshops) in France on various models.
The SFBD has a lot of actions dedicated to promote early career researchers. Registration fees to SFBD meetings are relatively low, allowing early career researchers to take part at moderate cost. We have been offering, for a few years now, travelling grants dedicated specifically to PhD students at the end of their projects and to post-doctoral researchers. Every year, the Society awards a prize for the best PhD Thesis in the field of Developmental Biology.
The SFBD edits a bi-annual letter that contains information likely to be of interest to the community. Previous letters can be found on our here.
All members of the society can submit news and job adverts that will be published on the website.
The SFBD Board
The SFBD Board is elected by the Society members for three years and can be reelected once.
