Support for Dr. Fariba Adelkhah, imprisoned in Iran for 11 months
The Academic Learned Societies of France, of which the SFBD is a member, give their full support to Dr. Fariba Adelkhah, a French-Iranian anthropologist, researcher at the Centre de Recherches Internationales (CERI) of Sciences Po and imprisoned for 11 months in Evin prison in Tehran.
The Societies express their deep concern about the arrest and imprisonment of this respected scientist who is in Iran to carry out her research. They urge the Iranian authorities to release this colleague, as they did very recently for another imprisoned French CERI researcher, Roland Marchal.
Finally, the Societies encourage French academic institutions and research teams to post Fariba Adelkhah’s face on their websites to show the support of the scientific community and to urge the French government to make every effort to secure her release.
