We are seeking a highly motivated individual, preferably with background in fish developmental biology and experience in scRNA-Seq. Interest for evo-devo will be a plus.

The candidate will contribute to research projects supported by an Equipe FRM grant entitled « Neurogenetics of the blind cavefish, Astyanax mexicanus ».

The candidate will work in the team “Development and Evolution of the Forebrain” headed by Sylvie Rétaux, at the Paris-Saclay Institute of Neuroscience (Neuro-PSI) on the CEA campus of Saclay (25km south of Paris). His/her central project will be to develop and perform comparative scRNA-Seq and functional analyses on Astyanax cavefish and surface fish.

The postdoctoral contract will start early 2022 for one year (with possible one-year extension).

Candidates should apply on the CNRS recruitment website at:

In our new #BehindThePaper blog post, @oozguc explains how side projects helped her keep going after a series of disappointing results and eventually shaped her research on #PeCoWaCo, the rhythm of early-stage embryo #development #PLOSBiology #academiclife https://plos.io/3HQ3Lmk
